International cooperation on building an excellent civil service and developing public governance capacity in Viet Nam
On June 3, 2025, at APAG Headquarters in Ha Noi, a working session was held between a delegation from the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG), Singapore, and the Academy of Public Administration and Governance (APAG), aimed at discussing and promoting cooperation in key areas related to civil service reform and the development of public governance capacity in Viet Nam.
International Seminar “Vietnamese Development Model and Policies for a Two-Digit Growth: With Special References to the Experience of China, Japan, and Korea”
On April 14, 2025, in Ha Noi, the Academy of Public Administration and Governance (APAG) under the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA) organized the international scientific seminar titled “Vietnamese Development Model and Policies for a Two-Digit Growth: With Special References to the Experience of China, Japan, and Korea”. The seminar was co-chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, President of APAG, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Van Nghia, Director General of the Department of International Cooperation, HCMA.
Innovation in public governance to build an effective government
On March 11, 2025, in at APAG Headquarters in Ha Noi, the Academy of Public Administration and Governance (APAG), in collaboration with the Chandler Institute of Governance (CIG) from Singapore, organized an international seminar on the theme “Innovation in public governance to build an effective government.” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, APAG President, and Mr. Wu Wei Neng, Executive Director of CIG, co-chaired the event.

On November 29, 2024, the workshop titled “Transformation of Leadership and Management Training for a Future-ready Civil Service” took place at NAPA Headquarters in Ha Noi. This workshop was a key activity within Viet Nam’s term as the Convenor of the ASEAN Public Service Training Institutions Network (PSTI) for the 2023–2024 period.
International training course “Applying Design Thinking in Innovating Innovating Leadership and Management Training Programs”

On November 13, 2024, the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) – Ho Chi Minh City Campus hosted the international training course “Applying Design Thinking in Innovating Leadership and Management Training Programs.” This meaningful activity was held as part of Viet Nam’s Convenorship of the ASEAN Public Service Training Institutes Network (PSTI) for the 2023-2024 term. The course was conducted in a hybrid mode (PSTI delegates participating online, live-streaming to NAPA Headquarters in Ha Noi, NAPA Dak Lak Campus, and NAPA Quang Nam Campus, and in-person at NAPA Ho Chi Minh City Campus).

On October 16, 2024, at NAPA Headquarters in Ha Noi, the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA) collaborated with INHA University and Sunmoon University, South Korea, to organize an international workshop titled “Capacity Development of NAPA Officials and Lecturers for Training, Research, and Working in the International Environment.” The workshop was held both in person and online, with connections to NAPA campuses in Ho Chi Minh City, Dak Lak, and Quảng Nam. The workshop was co-chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, NAPA President, and Prof. Youngsoon Kim from INHA University, South Korea.
