On the afternoon of May 18, 2026, in Hanoi, the Academy of Public Administration and Governance organized a Program to welcome Vietnam Science, Technology, and Innovation Day. Overview of the commemorative programAttending the program, from the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, there were Meritorious Teacher, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hau, Chief of the Party Committee Office, Head of the Party - Mass Organizations Work Commission; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Thi Anh Tuyet, Deputy Director of the Department of Scientific Management; Dr. Nguyen Thi Huong Giang, Deputy Director of the Political Theory Publishing House, along with many experts and scientists who have made significant contributions to the Academy's scientific research activities.
From the Academy of Public Administration and Governance, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Academy; Vice Presidents of the Academy including: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luong Thanh Cuong, Dr. Bui Phuong Dinh, Dr. Hoang Ngoc Hai; along with leaders of faculties, departments, units, and the contingent of lecturers, scientists, trainees, and students throughout the Academy.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien emphasized that in the new development context of the country, science, technology, innovation, digital transformation, and the development of high-quality human resources are becoming important driving forces promoting rapid and sustainable development. Based on thoroughly grasping the spirit of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo, the Academy identifies the development of science and technology and the building of an academic culture as a central task to improve the quality of training, scientific research, and serving national development.
According to the Academy President, over 67 years of establishment and development, the Academy of Public Administration and Governance has gradually affirmed its position in training and fostering public sector human resources; researching administrative science and public governance; and participating in policy consulting and criticism. The achievements in scientific research, digital transformation, and the development of the academic ecosystem continue to affirm the Academy's prestige, responsibility, and role in the higher education system.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Ba Chien also requested the units under and directly affiliated with the Academy to continue promoting scientific research tied to the requirements of national development, administrative reform, national digital transformation, and public governance innovation; developing digital libraries, electronic learning materials, and an open academic environment; strongly spreading the reading culture, the spirit of self-learning, and innovation among the contingent of cadres, lecturers, trainees, and students.

Representing the scientists closely associated with the Academy's development, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Khien affirmed that throughout the process of formation and development, scientific research activities always play an important role in improving training quality and serving national administrative reform. He believed that in the new context, the Academy needs to continue to innovate even more strongly, promote research potential, and at the same time pay attention to building scientific research support funds to create long-term motivation for young lecturers and scientists.

epresenting the young lecturers, Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Thoa expressed her pride in working in a dynamic academic environment, which creates conditions for young lecturers to promote the spirit of research, innovation, and connecting science with practice. According to her, promoting scientific research, technology application, and digital transformation is not only a requirement for higher education innovation but also an important solution to improve the quality of human resource training in the fields of administration, governance, and state management.

Within the framework of the program, the Academy organized a summary and award ceremony for the "Reading Culture Ambassador" Contest 2026. The summary report showed that after nearly 2 months of implementation, the contest attracted more than 2,000 students participating with 705 entries in two categories: written articles and videos. Many works demonstrated elaborate investment, creative perspectives, and the students' sense of responsibility towards building a reading culture, developing innovative thinking, and serving the community.
The Organizing Committee selected 11 outstanding works to award, consisting of 1 First Prize, 2 Second Prizes, 3 Third Prizes, and 5 Consolation Prizes.

According to the Organizing Committee, the Exhibition is not only a space to display books, textbooks, research works, and scientific products but also a forum to connect knowledge, spread the reading culture, and promote the spirit of self-learning, scientific research, and innovation throughout the Academy. The exhibition space is designed in an open direction, combining traditional displays with digital academic experiences, introducing the electronic library system, digital learning materials, and many scientific databases serving training and research.
Through the series of activities celebrating Vietnam Science, Technology, and Innovation Day 2026, the Academy of Public Administration and Governance continues to affirm its orientation of building a modern, humane academic environment rich in identity; while simultaneously strongly spreading the spirit of self-learning, scientific research, innovation, and the aspiration to contribute among the contingent of cadres, lecturers, trainees, and students, contributing to serving the country's development cause in the new phase.
