Speaking at the 8th National Book Awards Ceremony, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Trinh Van Quyet warmly congratulated the authors, translators, researchers, publishers, and book makers whose works were honored.
According to the Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization, the National Book Awards increasingly affirms its position as a noble State award in the publishing field. It holds practical significance in honoring works of ideological, academic, cultural, scientific, and artistic value; encouraging and motivating the contingent of authors, translators, researchers, publishers, and book makers to continue their creative labor and dedication to the country's development.
Through its editions, the Award has become a meaningful mark in the spiritual and cultural life of society. The works honored today are not only the result of serious, persistent, and responsible intellectual labor but also reflect the vitality of academia, cultural life, the aspiration to dedicate, and the spirit of serving the Fatherland.
In order for the publishing industry in general and the National Book Awards in particular to continue promoting their role, significance, and value in the new period, Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Trinh Van Quyet suggested that management agencies, publishers, authors, translators, and book makers continue to improve the ideological, academic, and cultural quality of each work.
Comrade Trinh Van Quyet, Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization, awarding 2 A prizes to the authors, translators, and representatives of publishers and affiliated units whose books won the awards
The Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization requested that in the coming time, it is necessary to promote innovation and digital transformation in publishing activities; proactively develop electronic publishing, audiobooks, digital libraries, and modern reading platforms; strongly apply new technologies in editing, managing, distributing, and promoting books; and gradually build a modern and professional publishing ecosystem, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of readers in the digital age.
In addition, developing a reading culture must be determined as a core goal, a long-term foundation for knowledge development and improving the quality of human resources. It is necessary to expand reading spaces in families, schools, communities, agencies, and units; paying special attention to fostering reading habits among the younger generation, so that reading truly becomes an intrinsic need, a beautiful lifestyle, and a source of inspiration for lifelong learning.
The publishing industry needs to become an important channel to promote the image of the country, people, history, and culture of Vietnam to the world; while selectively absorbing the quintessence of human knowledge, contributing to raising the people's intellectual level, broadening horizons, and enriching domestic academic life.
Head of the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Trinh Van Quyet requested continuing to elevate the National Book Awards. It is necessary to build the Award into a highly prestigious cultural institution with a wide spread, capable of shaping values, discovering, honoring, and promoting increasingly more truly outstanding works; so that after the award, good books continue to reach a large number of readers, enter social life, and promote long-term effectiveness.
