Within the framework of the Project “Strengthening Internationalization of Vietnamese Emerging Universities – STRIVE”, on 18 March 2025, the working delegation of the Academy of Public Administration and Governance, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Bá Chiến, President of the Academy, attended the international workshop titled “Strengthening Financial Management Capacity in Erasmus+ Projects” held at the University of Évora, Portugal.
The workshop was attended by the Project’s partner organisations and higher education institutions, including: the AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium (Italy), Hanoi University, the University of Évora (Portugal), the Academy of Public Administration and Governance (Vietnam), Quang Ninh University of Industry, Phu Xuan University (Hue), and the University of Tuscia (Italy).
In his speech, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyễn Bá Chiến emphasized that since participating in the development of the STRIVE Project Proposal in 2022, the Academy has undergone two rounds of restructuring in line with the Government’s orientation toward streamlining and enhancing the effectiveness of the political-administrative apparatus. This transition period has provided opportunities for the Academy to inherit and build upon its long-standing tradition while advancing reforms to improve the quality of training, scientific research, and international cooperation.
As the lead institution responsible for developing the proposal of the follow-up Project—one of the key deliverables of STRIVE—the Academy confidents strongly in the close collaboration and support of Project members and the extended network of STRIVE partners. The new Project Proposal is expected to be submitted to the Funding and Tenders Portal of the European Union following the completion of STRIVE.
During subsequent sessions of the workshop, project members received training on financial planning and management for EU-funded projects, as well as guidance on maintaining the sustainability of the new Project Proposal in the field of Tourism Governance. The activity aims to enhance the quality of teaching and learning in tourism-related programmes while building a network connecting universities, students, enterprises, and tourism associations.

At the same time, the Project promotes connectivity between universities in Europe and Vietnam. STRIVE aligns with the objectives of the Erasmus+ CBHE Programme, enabling Vietnamese institutions to access cooperation opportunities supported by the Erasmus+ mechanism.
Fourteen months after the commencement of the Project, in January 2024, the Academy of Public Administration and Governance signed the Partnership Agreement with the AlmaLaurea Interuniversity Consortium (Italy) – the Project’s international coordinating unit. The Academy also participated in the launch of the Project website: https://strive-project.eu; contributed to the development and publication of the Project Quality Plan and the first Quality Report; and took the lead in formulating a new Project Proposal in the field of tourism governance.
