Dear delegates, officials, and lecturers of the Academy, and all trainees of the Global Young Business Managers (GYBM) Program,
With the approval of the President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, today the Academy of Public Administration and Governance, in coordination with the Daewoo Global Management Academy (South Korea), holds the Opening Ceremony of the 2026 Global Young Business Managers (GYBM) Program.
On behalf of the leadership and staff of the Academy of Public Administration and Governance, I warmly welcome and sincerely thank the leaders, international experts, partners, South Korean businesses, and all distinguished delegates for attending today's ceremony. In particular, I extend a warmest welcome to the 29 South Korean trainees who have chosen Vietnam and the Academy of Public Administration and Governance as the starting point for a new journey of learning, experience, and growth.
Distinguished delegates and colleagues,
The Vietnam - South Korea relationship is currently in its finest stage of development since the establishment of diplomatic relations. Behind the achievements in investment, trade, and science and technology is an increasingly deep connection between people, between the younger generations of both nations, and between the shared development aspirations of our two peoples.
We believe that the future of Vietnam - South Korea relations will continue to be nurtured not only by cooperative agreements or large investment projects, but also through the connection, mutual understanding, and companionship of the younger generations. It is you, those present in this hall today, who will study together, work together, and co-create new values for the future.
Therefore, our GYBM program holds a significance that goes beyond the framework of an ordinary training course. This is not merely collaboration between two educational institutions, but an investment in the younger generation—those who will help build new bridges of connection between Vietnam and South Korea in the coming decades. We expect today's program to mark the beginning of a long-term, effective, and sustainable partnership between the Academy of Public Administration and Governance and the Daewoo Global Management Academy, while contributing to enhancing mutual understanding, trust, and cohesion between the people of our two countries.
For the Academy of Public Administration and Governance, this is also a meaningful step forward in our internationalization process. We aim to build the Academy not only as a place for knowledge transmission but also as a space for connecting culture, experience, and development aspirations; a place where Vietnamese lecturers and students, along with international trainees, study together, share together, and grow together in a multicultural environment.
Dear trainees,
Pre-course survey results show that you wish to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam, the environment of South Korean enterprises in Vietnam, the working culture, and the essential competencies for your future careers. These desires form the very foundation for us to co-create our GYBM program.
GYBM does not aim to impart an overwhelming amount of knowledge, but rather focuses on capability development. This includes the ability to adapt to changes, collaborate in a multicultural environment, practice self-leadership, and create value in an ever-fluctuating world. Therefore, alongside modules on Vietnam, governance, leadership, human resource management, digital skills, and artificial intelligence, the program is designed with numerous experiential activities, workplace simulations, corporate networking opportunities, and practical case-solving exercises.
We hope that upon completing this course, you will not only gain a profound understanding of the country, people, and working environment in Vietnam, but also possess the confidence, capability, and resilience to work effectively within South Korean enterprises in Vietnam; becoming bridges connecting our two cultures and positive factors that generate value for businesses, communities, and society.
The next six months will be an experiential journey filled with novelties, differences, and challenges. Yet, it is precisely these experiences that will help you mature. The greatest values you receive may not reside in the end-of-course certificate, but in new perspectives, new friendships, new connections, and a renewed confidence in yourselves.
On behalf of the Academy of Public Administration and Governance, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the attention, guidance, and support from the leadership of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Department of International Cooperation, the Department of Science Management, and other functional units. My sincere thanks also go to the Daewoo Global Management Academy, experts, partner enterprises, and all individuals who have accompanied this program. The Academy commits to making every effort to ensure the program is deployed effectively, substantively, and in a truly beneficial manner for the trainees.
I wish our trainees a successful learning journey in Vietnam. The spirit that the GYBM Program aims for is also the message that has inspired generations of South Korean youth: “Aim High for the Future”.
Always set bigger goals, higher aspirations for yourselves, and continuously prepare your capabilities to realize those aspirations. Learn with an open mind, experience with a spirit of dedication, and act with a sense of responsibility. For the future does not belong to those who wait for opportunities, but to those who know how to learn, adapt, and dare to step toward new horizons.
May our 2026 Global Young Business Managers Program be a resounding success.
Thank you very much.
