As part of Party General Secretary To Lam’s State visit to the Republic of Singapore from March 11 to March 13, 2025, on March 11, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo Member, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics (HCMA), and Chairman of the Central Council on Theoretical Studies, held a working meeting with Mr. Teo Chee Hean, Singaporean Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Y, Vice President of HCMA, and the Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) at the National University of Singapore (NUS) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), witnessed by Party General Secretary To Lam and Singaporean Senior Minister and Coordinating Minister for National Security Teo Chee Hean.

During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on international and regional developments and discussed key global issues, including food security, water security, and cybersecurity. They also explored bilateral cooperation in the context of the Viet Nam-Singapore relationship being elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo Member, HCMA President, and Chairman of the Central Council on Theoretical Studies highly appreciated the cooperation between Viet Nam and Singapore, especially in leadership training—one of Viet Nam’s strategic breakthrough priorities aimed at promoting socio-economic development and enhancing national governance quality. Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to continuing its support for Viet Nam in areas of mutual interest. Both sides also emphasized the importance of strengthening national resilience to adapt to rapid global changes.
As part of the State visit, and under the witness of Party General Secretary To Lam, HCMA and LKYSPP under the NUS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on leadership training.

On the morning of March 11, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Duong Trung Y, HCMA Vice President and the HCMA delegation worked with Prof. Danny Quah, Dean of LKYSPP, along with the school’s leadership and experts. Both sides reviewed the achievements of their collaboration over the past year and agreed on a roadmap for future cooperation, particularly in the context of Viet Nam and Singapore elevating their relationship to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Immediately after the MOU signing ceremony, the HCMA delegation attended Party General Secretary To Lam’s keynote speech at the National University of Singapore, moderated by Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean.
